Globecast are successfully using the latest C510ip audio codecs to deliver production audio over a combination of iDirect based satellite services and public IP networks. The ability to bridge the audio IP stream directly from iDirect onto the public internet (ADSL) has greatly simplified the delivery process by avoiding the cost of installing dedicated IP services at the customer premises. Based upon the success of this service, many broadcasters are now enabling static IP address to allow direct streaming of Systembase formatted IP audio into their premisses from the public internet. The security implications associated with providing a public IP address are minimal as the C510ip provides IP audio and WEB management connectivity on separate RJ45 connectors, ensuring total isolation between public and internal networks at all times.
